🏄 Beer Point Surf Guide

Beer Point is a sheltered surf spot on the East Devon Jurassic Coast, between Beer and Branscombe. Surf guides describe an occasionally hollow point-style break over sand and rock, with right-hand and A-frame sections when the swell lines up. It is not as consistently exposed as North Devon’s Atlantic beaches.

South to south-westerly swell is generally most promising, with west to north-westerly winds often favourable. Conditions can work at different tide stages, but local banks, swell exposure and wind direction make a big difference. The forecast values describe modelled sea conditions, not the height of waves breaking at the point.

⚠️ Beer Point Surf Safety

Beer Point has mixed sand and rock, and wave shape, currents and access can change with tide and swell. Nearby Beer Beach is a working shingle beach with steep shelving, fishing activity and unguarded water; stay away from unstable cliff bases. Always inspect conditions, follow local advice and never treat a model surf score as a safety rating.
