Discover Epic Waves at Cortez Bank
Introduction to Cortez Bank Situated approximately 100 miles off the coast of San Diego, Cortez Bank is an extraordinary surf
The Cribber in North Cornwall is renowned among surfers for its distinct characteristics as an exposed point break. Unlike many beach breaks, this spot offers both left and right-hand reef breaks that work best around low tide, making it a unique destination for keen wave riders. Autumn and winter are considered the prime seasons for surf, as formidable swells consistently generate the kind of waves that challenge and excite surf enthusiasts. With ideal swell direction coming from the west, enthusiasts can often find themselves riding groundswells or windswells that add to the dynamic nature of the break.
However, surfers should be cautious, as the Cribber is susceptible to onshore breezes that can quickly blow out good conditions, especially when there is no shelter from crossshore winds. Thankfully, even during peak seasons, it’s not uncommon to find the lineup relatively uncrowded, which allows surfers the freedom to carve their own paths on the water. That being said, the presence of sharp rocks in the lineup is a constant reminder to stay vigilant and respect the surf’s power. For those willing to navigate these challenges, the Cribber promises an exhilarating experience amidst its raw, breathtaking beauty.
