🏄 The Cribbar Surf Guide

The Cribbar, sometimes called Cornwall’s big-wave reef, sits off Newquay and only really comes alive when large Atlantic swell, long wave periods and the right wind conditions line up.

This is not a normal surf beach. It is a powerful reef wave with heavy water, strong currents, rocks, long hold-down potential and serious consequences if things go wrong.

⚠️ Serious Safety Warning

The Cribbar is for highly experienced big-wave surfers only. Do not enter the water unless you have the correct experience, equipment, fitness, local knowledge and safety support.

For most people, the best place to enjoy The Cribbar is from a safe viewing spot on land. Big-wave days can be spectacular, but the sea here deserves huge respect.
