Crooklets is an exposed Atlantic-facing beach break in Bude, North Cornwall, with shifting sandy peaks and rock shelves towards the edges. It can produce punchy left- and right-hand waves, especially when westerly or north-westerly swells arrive. Smaller days may suit learners, but bigger surf and rip currents demand more experience.
West to north-west swell and lighter easterly offshore winds often provide cleaner surf. Crooklets is well known for low-tide banks, but rocks become exposed and the available beach narrows as the tide rises. Check conditions in person: these are modelled offshore seas, not measured breaking-wave heights.
