So, what’s the short and sweet version of the Code? It’s all about safety and respect for others: ensure you have appropriate insurance, acquire your permit, and always give way to boats, maintaining a distance of at least 100 meters. This simple framework is designed to keep everyone safe while preserving the beauty of our favorite kitesurfing spot!

For those looking to get their Bluff pass, visit Down the Line in Hayle. BKSA members will only pay £10, and if you’re affiliated with KKC, it’s completely free! If you’re outside the BKSA, you’ll need to show proof of third-party liability kitesurfing insurance, which costs £20. Remember, all kitesurfers in the area are required to wear a valid Bluff permit tag on their harness, so make sure you’re fully equipped before you hit the water!

Lastly, keep in mind that the tides can be tricky at the Bluff. On an ebbing tide, a strong current can take your board out to sea, and as high tide approaches, the beach can disappear quickly. Let’s enjoy this fantastic kitesurfing location responsibly—use the system, respect the code, and have fun!
