Kitesurfing Forecast

Best Wind Direction:
North Westerly: This is your go-to direction for ideal kitesurfing conditions!

Workable Wind Directions:
From Northerly to Westerly to South-South Westerly: These winds can also provide decent kiting experiences, so keep an eye on the forecast!
Tidal Restrictions:
Avoid High Tide: Make sure to steer clear of kitesurfing 2 hours before and after high tide as the beach disappears. We want fun, not floundering!
Conditions to Look Out For:
South West Winds: Excellent for wave riding with a swell; perfect for those looking to challenge their skills.
Westerly Winds: Generally onshore, with a nice mix of swell that can create great flat water areas—ideal for twin tips with some fun kickers for boosting.
North West/North Winds: Combine these with swell for classic wave riding conditions—who doesn’t love a good boost while catching waves?
Remember:
Busy Beach: Watergate Bay can get crowded with other beach users, surfers, and more, especially around the lifeguard zones.
Optimal Launch Spot: For a less hectic setup, head north of the rocks by the steps or go directly in front of the Beach Hut during non-lifeguard hours. This area is where the beach widens, and the wind is strongest.
So gear up, stay safe, and have an amazing kitesurfing adventure at Watergate Bay! Happy riding! 🌊🏄‍♂️
