Tidal Restrictions
Hawkers Cove features a very shallow, shelving beach with significant tidal shifts.
The best time to hit the water is around mid tide, where you’ll find waist-high depths and soft, manageable waves.
Be cautious: During high spring tides, much of the beach disappears, so plan your visits accordingly!

Hazards & Restrictions
Important note: Kitesurfing is banned from 10 am to 6 pm in July and August due to regulations from the Padstow Harbour Master.
If you’re a beginner or not fully confident, it’s wise to steer clear of SSE winds on an outgoing tide, as the current can get quite strong.
On an incoming tide, you’ll find yourself swiftly carried up the Estuary—definitely a fun ride if you’re prepared!
Enjoy the waves, stay safe, and happy kitesurfing at Hawkers Cove!
