Hey fellow sports fans! As we soak up the sun this summer, I wanted to share some important info about kiting along our beautiful beach during July and August. Trust me, you’ll want to keep these tips in mind to ensure a fun and safe experience!
Tide Awareness: Be cautious of the southerly and outgoing tides—they can whip up strong currents that can catch you off guard. Looking out from the car park, you can see Bray Hill looming to the south. As the tide comes in, it affects both the wind and current, so always launch and land well away from its impact zone.

Watch Out for Boats: If you’re planning to cross the channel, stay alert for boat traffic coming from Rock and Padstow. The mid-tide current can be intense, so don’t let it take you by surprise!

Northern Shore Hazards: Over on the northern side of the beach (that’s your right if facing the channel), watch for rocks and stones. It’s a good idea to arrive during low or mid-tide to scope out the shoreline before kiting closer to it.

Let’s keep the good vibes going and enjoy our summer kiting adventures safely! Happy kiting!

You will have to pay in the car park and it is not cheap but if the conditions are working it is definitely worth it – Either a a pay and display machine which needs change or there will be a car park attendant. The Carpark has plenty of space.
