Bantham Surfing is not a sport, it’s a lifestyle.
Surfers Quick Guide, Perfecta Southwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northeast.t.
Bantham in South Devon’s allure lies in its exposed river break that offers a consistent surf experience. Its geographical orientation makes it susceptible to reliable offshore winds from the northeast. The break benefits from a blend of groundswells and windswells, with the ideal swell direction originating from the southwest. Surfers can anticipate both left and right-breaking waves, which are best enjoyed during low tide. However, the popularity of this break means that when conditions are favorable, crowds tend to gather.
The car park at Bantham beach has room for over 1,000 cars. The beach is approximately 75m from the car and is an easy walk over the sand dunes. Gate opens at approx. 7.00am.
